Talking 30 Day Countdown

I got the signed copy of the TPR order today. So, now we just have to wait out the 30 day appeal period. I have a feeling this will be the longest 30 days I will have in a long time.

Yay! May the 30 days pass quickly!

Our appeal period after voluntary TPR was only 7 days -- longest week ever!

Yay! At least the time frame is known at this point! I hate the waiting with no certain end date.

OK... I"m confused now. Order was just signed today. Mom just got out of prison yesterday. DCS Attorney said that Mom's attorney told her she would not represent mom for the appeal, that she would have to come here and go to court and sign it herself.

Tonight I talked with grandma (no bio relation). Mom apparently went to another state where she has family (that is quite a ways from here). Grandma said her son spoke with mom and she told him that she already filed the appeal. I guess if that is really what happened we will find out really soon. I just wouldn't have thought she could do it already with what DCS attorney said.

I do know she has plans to come back here sometime as her other son is here. I dont know when that will be. Ugh! I hate the not knowing!!! This will truly be a long 30 days. Sigh.

Is it that the appeal has to be filed in the 30 days where you are or just the notice that she is appealing?

I'm sorry for your frustration beginning on day one

Oh what a relief!!! How long after that until you can move forward with adoption?

As for her saying she already filed it, often times bio parents will say stuff to their own bio that has nothing to do with reality. Fingers crossed on that one. Let's hope that even if she files the appeal, it is immediately denied, those children deserve permanency.

The appeal has to be filed in court within the 30 days. I guess we will find out really soon if she did or if she is making it up. I think it will also be telling how quickly she makes it back to where we are.

Our agency said that they will get the file redacted while we wait. The timeline they put forth was about a month from start to finalization for the adoption, including subsidy - was told that it is standard and below their current rate so it will be an easy sign. That part at least seems to be a quick and easy road (according to everyone at the agency).

I hope that mom is just full of talk. Time will tell. I would rather it not get drug out but I have a feeling it just might.
