Unhappy My Teddy Bear is leaving us...

In the 4 months that we've had him he's learned to roll over, sit up, say "dada" and "give kisses". We couldn't possibly love him more. He's going to family and we knew it was the plan for day one but now that we have a "move out" day it hits hard. I can't even imagine how much we will miss him To make matters worse, we just got rid of our dogs today because we suspect Teddy is allergic to them. He has had runny nose and cough the entire time we have had him. They are in a rescue group and will go to great homes but still.. I hadn't been home an hour from dropping the dogs off when CW called and said the paperwork finally all went through and Thursday or Friday he will be leaving. kids are at school they will all be devastated. They knew it was coming though so they are as prepared as a 4,6 and 7 year old can be.

On the bright side, family sounds great and Teddy still doesn't have stranger anxiety so he should adjust well. Doesn't change how much we will miss him though. This is going to be so hard!

It is so hard to say good-bye...it helps me to think of every single smile I've been given, every little kiss and snuggle, of how they have been safe and happy with us...and we know we've given them all the love in our hearts too. Try to take comfort in those things....You will miss him more than words can ever say, but he'll never leave your heart! Hang in there!

I'm there too. Our little guy will be leaving soon, we dont have a date yet but I was told last week it could even be this week and it's going to be a very short notice (like yours) and we will take him to his mother...sighs it's gonna be so hard after having him for 8 months (since he was 2 days old)

I am so sorry to hear this. Is there a chance you can get your doggies back now?

I have just been wondering myself today if Chubbs might be allergic to the dog because he has had some form of cold for the last 3 months. the longest he is symptom free is maybe a week. How did you determine that Teddy Bear was allergic? Will the family keep you updated on him?

We signed a contract but can"buy" them back. We are not going to though. With fostering our lifestyle is way too busy and since we had T they've spent most of time in our backyard. I knew when we decided to give them up T would eventually be leaving but we decided to do it anyways. If I knew he was leaving this soon we would have stuck it put though.

We don't know for sure heis allergic, a nurse came out to our house and ushe said its very likely (ESP. since he has bad excema) but they don't test in babies that young.

I hope family will update me. His mom and I have gotten close and I know she would have but he is going to relatives out of state so I don't know. She has my number now but has only called twice. I text her whenever he hits a milestone or has a dr apt and she usually responds at least. We will see. She seems nice and thanked me for caring for him when she first called so she might.

Unhappy He's actually gone

I know in my heart its for the best but I am SO sad
I'm not a crier but all week I've been an emotional mess. Poor guy just won't understand, I know he will adjust, he has the best personality, but still, can't stand the thought of him thinking I abandoned him (not that he will even remember after awhile). They picked him up at 4am (this morning). I hope he does well on his long car ride(just him and SW are making the trip). Aunt texted me and thanked me for taking caring of him, it was a very nice text and gave me hope she will keep me updated. I can't stand the thought of never hearing anything again.

Part of me hopes I get new kids right away to keep my mind off of things, the other part wants a break from apts and sw's. Either way, I hope we don't go another 4 months before getting a call that actually works out.
