Baby Girl leaving

After a wonderful, amazing 4 months the precious baby girl I picked up from the hospital at 5 days old will going to live with her aunt in FL. I know she will be fine, its just so hard to say goodbye. This is my 2nd foster child, & I truly want to adopt so I have to keep pushing forward but BOY it does get difficult when they leave.
Thinking maybe I should not take a break & let them know I am ready for another placement right away....staying positive, & looking forward to what the future brings Thanks for listening.

Have a great weekend all.

I'm sorry for your loss. You gave that baby girl a great life while you had her...and what a blessing to know she is going to a good home! Now you have the opportunity to open you home to another child who needs you! Good luck finding your forever baby, she/he will be worth it all!

I"m so sorry. I find taking a break to be very helpful.

It's tough! I find that when a child leaves, to focus on a project or goal helps my mind stay focused on the positive things in my life.

Big virtual hugs for your loss!

We used to take a break after each one, too, but then decided to keep pushing on in the hopes of getting a child to keep forever...preferably a baby, but more likely going to be a toddler.

My heart aches for you but at least she's going to a good home and hopefully the next one will be yours to keep. Hope everything works out.

I don't like the time off between placements either. Personally I don't find it helpful at all.

I will be going through a loss in a week as well. My thoughts are with you. I am so glad we have a place to support each other. I know for myself, I would like a new placement quickly to help focus and give joy to. We are all different and you will have to decide this for yourself.

As for me, I would want a little time to grieve before another placement. I know your heart must be hurting. Sending hugs!!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. I took a LONG time off after my girls left. Not sure I would do that again, but it turns out, it was meant to be. Had I not taken off so long, I never would have gotten my Chubbs, and he means the world to me.

My worker said she has families that go both ways, some take time off, but some like to overlap placements even and will ask for another placement before the current one leaves.

It will be hard. Do what you think is best for you.

We were told this week that our little guy could go home as soon as next week. He's turning 8 months old and we too got him from hospital and he was 2 days old.
My heart is already aching.
I may not have a choice of a break at this point but I am one who would prefer no break as a busy mind has less time....to think on the hurting heart.

(((hugs)))
