Local Family Going through a Foster Parents Nightmare... Please read

Here is a link to a story of one of our local Families going through a really hard time. No judgments from me one way or another I just feel for this Foster family and the child. I know they need support right now. Idaho is one of the States that does not have a Foster Parents Bill of Rights. We are powerless in these situations. Check it out there are several stories on the news paper's website they also have a facebook page.

Awful! I hope they get Joey back. It's amazing for two years H & W was "fine" with him being in the Blackford home now, when they want to adopt him, it's a problem. DYSFUNCTIONAL!

God Bless foster parents!

I don't know the fully story but I can't find a way to twist it to make that seem ok.

I really hope what is best for Joey is what is in the judges mind when they make the final placement decission.

It does not seem to matter what state a child or foster family is in. Read the posts all the way thru and back - the Children's Rights are the last considered in way to many cases.

My own daughter had a fd that they applied to adopt - after tpr happened and the girls had been in their home for 11 months. The worker assigned to them did not like 'mixed' families. The fact that Angie and her sister were also 'mixed race' (Latina/Caucasian) was ignored. They were placed in a different adoptive home for less than 6 months before ANGELINA ESPALIN (2002 - 2006), Search

this child's murderer is still sitting in jail, postponingthe judgement day that will come. Yesterday was the anniversary of her death.

I am aware that this is an extreme case - but for the misplaced power that was held by the caseworker/committee, Angie would never have been in the home of her murderer in the 1st place. Now Ellie, the sib, is in yet another home (they would not place her back with my daughter after the murder, no reason or excuse, just didn't) and now without a sister as well.

In 'joey's' case - I wonder if the committee was even aware that he had been in that continuous home for the 'almost-2-years' or if the 4 families were presented as all-stranger adoptions. If that MAJOR detail was omitted - - -

I feel for all the people so negatively affected by those who need to be all-powerful just to prove there is a reason for their own existance.

I have a bad taste for cps as the department where I live for 7 months/year declined to re-license us this year. We were doing short term, respite, and emergency placements since we aren't there year around. This last year we had issues with our home - so did not take any placements until the work was done - when we decided it was time to open our home again (one of the other fps asked for respite and we said yes) we were told that we were not going to be permitted until after we had gone thru the entire process again. Our training hours were up to date, our home passed inspection by the HD, and we were doing our annual re-license meeting when we were told that we would have to completely re-do all paperwork and MAPP trainings. So the foster families in FL lost a respite provider as well as the state having a FF that was willing to do only very temp (like for ICPS or family placement) care. We all lost.

So we will continue to do the same care in OR for the months we are there and will still feel somewhat useful.

I am so sorry for this family. I have heard sorry story after sorry story. It has gone on for years and does't show any signs of changing.

I think the article said January 7th. I can't believe they are going to have to go through the holidays without him.

If you read the latest article I am pretty sure it is Dec. 7th as does the facebook page... This is truly a sad situation and I hope that our state leaders hear the voices and make changes.....
