Each kid's different but...
Our last FD just pulled the diaper to the side and "puddled" whenever. Where there's a will, there's a way.

I can see dealing with this at home, but out in public? I can't imagine being at church and someone saying, "Isn't that your FD peeing on the carpet?" How did you deal with it? |

Oh it was bad. Trust me, she made us "pay" if we ever tried to have fun. Or do anything that did not revolve around her for that matter. She soiled our friend's and family's mattress, seat in car, carpet, dining chair, etc.
Sad to say, but I realized her favorite thing was attention from .. other.. people so... I explained to her that she would not get the kind of attention she loves (such as "oh,what a cute little girl" with hugs, smiles, etc.) if she was covered in her urine. I will NOT be providing a diaper for you when we go to stores or anywhere in public. So you might want to rethink the whole peeing when mad thing. In the car I would put a garbage bag over the carseat. If she chose to get mad (over something as silly as me while pregnant eating a cracker in a mad rush to not puke, without giving HER one FIRST) and pee on herself, there it would stay. We would go to our errand. She would get looks of disgust, and so would I. But... It only took one day of this, and her not getting the wanted attention. She never peed in public again. As for at home, that was a different story. I felt the worst about it, because we signed on for this, but our friends and family did not. Let's face it... It's not normal to have to explain to family during the holidays why that cute little girl can't sit on the furniture, your lap, or carpet. Not everyone is as understanding as our fellow peers here on Foster Parent support. ![]()
