Any suggestions?

My fs is almost 18 months old, and we've had him for four months. He is a very sweet baby, loves to read, says hi to everyone, gives kisses, plays well etc. My question/frustration is this - he's always been a bit of a screamer/screecher. It seems that he's been doing it more lately. Sometimes, I think it's tiredness ( he's a good sleeper ), sometimes it's temper, sometimes it's babyhood! It can be frustrating for the rest of the household including dh and our 4 older kids. Any suggestions would be great. Also, he was cocaine exposed for the first four months in utero, and I don't know if this is related to that, or is it just a phase. I don't remember my other kids doing that too much, but I know everyone is different. I think that when you have a fc, you question things more because you don't know all of the genetics, history, drug effects, etc. I'd appreciate any thoughts. I"m pretty sure that our other foster babies were not drug exposed, so this is really our first experience this way. Overall, he seems very sharp and on target, but I'd appreciate feedback. Thanks!

My son is almost three and still screeches EXTREMELY loudly when he does not get his way. It is frustration for him, because he is essentially non-verbal.

I've had many kids in the 0-3 year old range... and he is my first screamer. Several of the kids have also been drug exposed, but they didn't do this. So, it might just be your toddler's personality.

My son is also extremely sweet and happy the VAST majority of the time... but when he's not... look out!
