Since November is National Adoption Month, and November 21 is National Adoption Day I thought that it would be interesting to see how everyone answers a few questions.

1. How long have you been a foster parent? only for a few years, and technically now my home is "closed" bc there are only teens to foster here.

2. How many children have you fostered? only 6, 4 of which i adopted, 2 were ru'd.

3. Did you start fostering with adoption in mind? nope. we were foster only. only changed our minds when they called and said they were taking our older kids to an adoption fair to find them a family.

4. If you have adopted from foster care did you adopt a child who was placed with you as a foster/RU or as a foster/adopt placement? the first 2 we adopted from foster care were placed as foster kids. but we knew they would not be ru'd, we were keeping them until they found them a family. i'm such a sucker. lol. the third was foster/ru, but switched to an adoptive placement very quickly, and the 4th was a biological sibling of the third, and so he was placed fost/adopt.

5. Have you adopted boys, girls or both? from foster care- 3 boys, 1 girl, 1 boy internationally. and to think i originally requested a single girl. lol.

6. Do you plan on adopting again from foster care? i'd love to. but they only have teens here. maybe in the future.

7. Which month did, or will you finalize your adoption(s)? years ago- october and december, and then again just this past may.

2. How many children have you fostered? 3, one was an infant sibling to my other two, we had him 7 months and he reunified with mom..

Placed as just foster with a plan of reunification, but the plan changed and I proceeded with adoption..

1. How long have you been a foster parent? 1 and a half yrs.

3. Did you start fostering with adoption in mind? Yes and no. We went to an info meeting knowing we wanted to adopt, but we didn't know anything about foster care. We left knowing we were went to be foster parents and if we got to adopt then that would be great too.

4. If you have adopted from foster care did you adopt a child who was placed with you as a foster/RU or as a foster/adopt placement? foster child, but second time in care and CW knew the judge would not be sending her back. We took her without knowing.

6. Do you plan on adopting again from foster care? Would love to. We would like a boy.

7. Which month did, or will you finalize your adoption(s)?
We were given Permanent Managing Conservatorship of DD in March, so we are already her legal parents, but we are doing a private adoption also and I'm waiting right now on the court date. Hope it's coming up in the next week or two.

1. How long have you been a foster parent? Just over three years.

2. How many children have you fostered? Eight fostered, and about five more that I had for respite.

3. Did you start fostering with adoption in mind? I always planned on adopting but not now. Not for a long time actually!!

4. If you have adopted from foster care did you adopt a child who was placed with you as a foster/RU or as a foster/adopt placement? My boys were all individually placed with RU as their goals. I had all three of my boys from the time their cases opened.

5. Have you adopted boys, girls or both? Boys. I wanted to do pre/teen girls and got little/baby boys!

6. Do you plan on adopting again from foster care? Yes, in about 2012! (my littles will be in kindergarten!)I need my girl(s)! Though my fam. thinks I am crazy!

7. Which month did, or will you finalize your adoption(s)? My first was this past Feb. after 2 years, and my other two will hopefully be in the begining of next year around our three year anniversary.

7. Which month did, or will you finalize your adoption(s)? We finalized our first adoption 2-00, 2nd adoption 6-02, 3rd 3-05, 4th 10-08, 5 should be 12-09, and our sweet baby G should be before 6-10.

3. Did you start fostering with adoption in mind? Not really, I didn't think I would be so lucky! Just wanted to do what I could for however long it was needed.

My first placement was RU, my Second RU turned adopt - but I was not the right home. Third placement started RU, adopted by me, Fourth placement is RU, but will turn adopt - again I'm not the best choice. Fourth placement is a teen, no RU but adopt will not be an option - We will just pretent

5. Have you adopted boys, girls or both? Boys. Twins I brought home from the hospital at 3 days.....20 months later they were mine in more than just my heart!

6. Do you plan on adopting again from foster care? I will follow God's plan. I wait for him.....but a little girl would be WONDERFUL (I'd take a boy too)!

1. How long have you been a foster parent? 4 years. Just relicensed for another year.

2. How many children have you fostered? Just 6! We get long placements, I guess!

3. Did you start fostering with adoption in mind? Yes. We hoped to adopt a sibling set.

4. If you have adopted from foster care did you adopt a child who was placed with you as a foster/RU or as a foster/adopt placement? Our first son was not yet TPRed but the CW thought TPR would be a no-brainer. Our second son was a newborn and bio dad tried for almost 2 years to get custody.

6. Do you plan on adopting again from foster care? We hope to adopt a girl eventually to complete our family (but we're in no hurry).

No, We are adopting a child who has been in foster care but not in our home.

1. How long have you been a foster parent? Almost four years.

2. How many children have you fostered? I have my fourth long term placement now. Plus several respite placements and 50+ emergency overnight placements.

3. Did you start fostering with adoption in mind? Nope. Told the state we were interested in teens only. (so far our kids have arrived at 3 years, 11 months, 5 months and 8 months). Now I am totally addicted to babies.

4. If you have adopted from foster care did you adopt a child who was placed with you as a foster/RU or as a foster/adopt placement? Our son was originally placed as foster/RU. We were his second foster home. He arrived at 11 months old.

5. Have you adopted boys, girls or both? One boy.

6. Do you plan on adopting again from foster care? Hopefully.

7. Which month did, or will you finalize your adoption(s)? National Adoption Day - November 16, 2007
