Michigan FPs: Private only option? or can DHS?
My fellow Michigan FP's:
Can we foster directly through DHS or is our only option through a private agency? Also, is anyone "open" in more than one county? Someone told me that I could request my license be opened to neighboring counties or the entire state if I wanted? Any experience with that...? Thank you, a newbie!

Yes to the dhs question and yes to nieghboring counties but I don't know about statewide good luck !!

Hi... Just wanted to say hi from a fellow Michigander. It looks like you already got the answers you needed. LOL.. Many of the private agencies are licensed for several counties, for example, mine is open to 4 counties around me. I don't know if you are licensed with DHS if you are able to open up beyond the county your are licensed with... Good luck
