We have A Son !!!

The adoption of our 4 year old FS will soon be complete .He has been with us for a year and 1/2.
this little guy is a champ. He is every thing you would want in a son. We have 7 daughters and we were long over due for boy.
In my widest imagination I would never dreamed we would have been able to adopt him. His tribe is very close knit and he comes from a large family. We had his little brother from birth to eight months. They placed him with us for a few days and sent both of them to their remote village after a few days.
It broke my DWs heart. After three months they sent him back to us.They left his little brother in the village with relatives .He had meltdowns for a few months but overall has had few issues. My DW Vickie is the best at putting the lives of these little ones back together. He has been in foster are all his life. His mother has serious FAS and his father is not in a stable situation.
In our home we now have our 14 year old who we adopted at birth. her 13 year old sister who came to us two months ago beat up and drunk, (she is doing fantastic) their two year old sister who we adopted at four months old when we found she was in foster care, our 5 and 8 year old FDs we adopted this summer after being with us for 5 years, and last but not least our little prince.
Our oldest came to us from a remote Indian village as a pregnant teenager. She has FAS and had a very rough start in life. After our grandson was born they lived with us for ten years. Our grandson is 20 now and starting college studying emergency medicine.I see him almot every day.
Our 2 bio daughters are in their late 20s and have six children each (10 boys and 2 girls).
I do not know how our life could be any fuller. I feel we are blessed to have found our calling. We have seen a lot of miracles.

I am not sure how long it will take. I am hoping it is a cultural adoption and not a tribal adoption. Each of the over 200 remote villages in Alaska now has tribal status and the state does not recognize tribal adoptions so there is a legal battle going on. We had a permanency hearing over the phone and were told the next day that the adoption process is being started.
