I'm done and its a good thing!!!

I typed the last of the storyline text for my 8 yr olds lifebook! I turned out great. Honest but not to harsh, has history both good and not so good, has Q and A for her opinion, places for pictures and places to draw the pictures we don't have (BF), caseworkers letters, bio letters etc.

Now her and I can start making it pretty. I am letting her pick out all the backgrounds and embellishments.

Just wanted to share because this has been a really hard process for me. I wish it was as simple as stating...."forget about it" It was hard thing to do. I was always told..."if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all." Trying to weave truth so that an 8 yr old can understand but without being negative or stating untruths was really hard.

But...Yippee for me. Its done!!

That's totally impressive! I have a son adopted domestically at birth, am a rabid scrapbooker and I can't even pull it off!

I too am a scrapper but boy I agree this was tough. You know the saying "a picture is worth a 1000 words" well when you don't have pictures...you get what I mean.

I'm jealous! I started this summer, but I haven't gotten very far. It's a big job and not an easy one! Good job getting it done!!

Congratulations! I bet in the teen years, that will be so valuable for her. It's not flesh and blood, but it shows her that her mom cares, and put a lot of effort into making sure she knows her history. It's going to be a great comfort for her. How you finished with 8 kids, well, I'll never know!
