I wanted a girl the first time around, until the adoption matcher told me the wait for a girl. YIKES!!! So I said I was open to either gender under 1, though I was still secretly hoping baby number 1 would be a girl. I got a boy and I'm so glad I did. Boys rock!
The second time around I specificly requested a girl under 1. When my Sasha was sent to live with relatives, I'm not sure if I asked for my next fost/adopt placement to be a girl or not. Placement number 3 was also a girl. Then I did an int'l adoption and although my homestudy said open to either gender AYAP, my agency knew I wanted a girl. So I now have 2 girls and 1 boy and if I had more energy and time in the day and money, I would adopt another boy so my son could have another male in the house. |

the agnecies we adopted our girls from would not allow us to pick the sex, we did open domestic adoption. I wanted girls and that is what we got!! When we adopted our son through fc we wanted only boys. When we do it again; we will not specify gender.
