any one ever deal with family reunification specialist?
Our cw called me yesterday after noon to tell me that they were putting little mans Dad and the baby thru the family reunification specialist program..
In a nut shell..They send baby home and there is a specialist in the home for 20 or more hours a week for I think 6 weeks..they have the power to say this isnt working or it is working so we will step out.. I have never heard of this...sounds like an awesome program. I feel better knowing that someone will be lookin out for little man.. He had a parent aid for several visits that I was not impressed with....He didnt have any children of his own (that im aware of) and he thought it was normal for little man (19 mos old) to just walk around aimlessly and not talk or play or laugh.. It looks like I will have to say good bye to the center of my universe soon..I cryed my self to sleep last night and am having a super hard time controlling my emotions today... prayers appreciated.. |

Sending prayers up for you and for little man.
I have not heard about this program. However, I am happy to hear there will be someone there 20 plus hours a week to make sure this is the right thing for little man. We want to be there for you. When does this start taking place? |

We have a meeting next Thursday to find out all of the details..The specialist can choose not to work with bio dad if they do not feel like it is time to send him home.
We shall see...I am just soooooo sooooo sad, and worried, and scared.. |

I would be sad, worried, and scared too. At least this specialist is somewhat of a safety net. Hopefully they are good at their job and will do what is best for your FS.
Please remember that things are final until they are final. So, just because it looks like he might go to Dad doesn't mean he will. Even if he does, that doesn't mean he will stay. It's difficult emotionally to go thru this with the children. I know you want what is best for him but you want to know (and deserve to know in my opinion) that if that means going with Bio Dad, then your FS will be safe. |
