Foster Care and Food Stamps Do You Get Them?

Hi, we have friends that are foster parents and their worker had them apply for food stamps to help with food bills for the children. Can foster parents apply for food stamps? I know you can get wic to help with babies. How many of you get food stamps?
Thanks

Here you cannot receive welfare or foodstamps as a foster family. WIC is for the child only, which is why you can get it... it's for the child in your care, not you. I don't know if that makes sense. It might vary from state to state or even county to county.

We were asked to use wic. I am actually pretty grateful they (my extended fam) talked me into accepting it. As new parents the nutritional information they have offered has been nice.

Here we can get WIC as well as Food Stamps. We just can't get cash aid.

Here, its based on your income, and the rehimbursement for foster care is included in your income. So we don't qualify.
