Question I need help

We are now filling out the forms and letters to adopt our foster son. The social worker wanted us to write a letter why we would like the adoption subsidy for after we finalize. Does anyone have any examples of letters that they would like to share?????

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

When I did my subsidy request, I put down that I would be using the funds to provide the "extras" that are recommended by his therapists such as Karate or sports, that isn't covered by Medicaid despite being recommended by the therapist.

We got the full subsidy we asked for.

I haven't done this part yet but for our daughter we will be including travel to have her visit her siblings, other items relative to sibling visits, some specific activities and items recommended by her therapist, and expected copays for her doctors visits (for things we are already aware of).

Since I'm not through this stage yet either, I'd be curious to see what others say also.

wow, you have to write a letter?? Thank god I didn't have to do that.

I would say that I want to start a college savings. I also would state that with her being a fosterchild, she may be at more need for therapy down the line and that would assist in covering it. I would also include things like gymnastics to keep her active and summer camp to keep her engaged with other kids. Lastly, I would mention with all kids there's always unforseen expenses. With fosterkids, there's likely to be a higher chance of unforseen expenses like therapy.

In our situation we do birthparent visits. I pay a fortune in gas to keep my baby's relationship open with her birthfamily. Maybe add that if you are considering it?

Good luck!

When we wrote our letter this is what we wrote:

Due to the responsibility of raising *N* and *J* and providing them with a perminate home, we will require the adoption assistance and full board payment to care for them in the manor they deserve.

Good luck...sounds like your ALMOST there!! CONGRATES!!!
