Follow up to "The Unthinkable Happened"

For all of you who read the unthinkable happened and especially all the wonderful people who responded.

I've had several people come to my house to ask questions. One investigator actually made an appointment with me and interviewed me, we talked for an hour and at the end she told me that those children had been very lucky to have lived in my house because she read about all the other places where they had lived and it was not good, she also told me not to worry and and she would let me know when the investigation was over. That happened on Wednesday, yesterday another one just showed up from the local county office, she says that she works with my kids SW, she wanted to talk to my son. After she talked to him she told me that I was not going to get dis-certified (sp) and that Mistery Man was not doing well and wanted him placed with me again! I told her I was sorry but I had asked my agency to dis-certify me and I was not going to do foster care any more because I was not going to risk losing my son. She told me that she was sorry I was not fostering any more but she agreed with me, she said "the way this system works, it's not worth it" Then before she left she told me that I should be getting a letter in the mail soon letting me know that my case was closed.
On a different note, my agency did not support me in ANY way! I didn't even hear from them until I went to give them receipts, they haven't even picked up the kids books yet. One thing I remember from the classes is them telling us how they are 100% behind us. If I ever decide to do it again (years from now if) I would do it straight county, the one person who supported me and stuck out for me was the kids county worker.

I miss Mistery Man SOOOOO much! But I'm enjoying my little family, I can go anywhere I want without asking for permission!

Thank you all so much for your responses, it REALLY helped

Thanks for the update and so glad this is over for you! I'm so sad this had to happen for the sake of the little guy...the best place he might have ever had.

Take care and I hope for all those other kids out there you consider coming back in time.
