Officially initiated!
So, today is my first day as a licensed foster parent! And guess what! I got a call at 930 am today for a potential placement. A 2 month old little boy with Lowe's syndrome. He was born premie at 29 weeks and was to be discharged from the hospital today. I waited 6 hours to hear from my agency on whether he would come into care. Unfortunately, the county decided to go with a home that they had worked with before
 So, I was just initiated into the rollercoaster ride that is foster care

Application Completed May 26. Went with private Christian Foster Care Agency GSP Classes- Completed July 18,09 Fingerprints Completed and approved 7-25-09 Final Homestudy- Completed 8-26-09 OFFICIALLY LICENSED 9-22-09!   12 yr old Special Needs "Tootsie"- Moved to residential treatment   2yr old "Bubba"- Respite for 10-16 to 10-18-09 2 yr old "Bubba" (again!!, yay!) 11-29 to 11-30 5 yr old "D-Man" Respite 11-28 to 11-30

Congratulations on your license and your first call.
Hang in there. I know it is frustrating. Just know that when the time is right, your first foster placement will be in your home. Please keep us posted.
