Exclamation deployment and placement - conflict or no?

Hi all. My dh will be for work soon, and he'll be gone for 4 months. Would this affect whether or not we can get a placement before or during that time?

We're not sure if we should bring this up with the social worker or not. It won't affect the fact that I'd be home with the child most of the day, and that my parents would be available as back-up caregivers.

If anyone has any information or experience with this sort of situation, please do share. Thank you!

I don't know if it will have any bearing on your getting a placement or not. I do know that it is best to bring it up with your sw before he/she hears it via the grapevine.

In fact, your sw would be able to let you know how this will affect your getting a placement.

Thank you to you and your dh for his service to our country.

This shouldn't effect your placements. It never has mattered with us. My husband was gone a whole year and we had our FS and was placed with our FD. It really shouldn't be an issue at all.

My husband left right after we had our fs placed with us and our second was placed while he was gone. It should not make a difference. I would discuss it with your sw.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I'm glad this won't slow us down.

Withay - I appreciate your patriotic words, but in the interest of full disclosure, while we are both prior military, dh will be traveling as a civilian this time. (I'm still just as nervous about being away from him for so long. )

I was thinking that since they do home visits, they'd probably ask where dh is, so we might as well mention it. Based on the replies here, we shouldn't have to worry about it.

Thanks!

Since I raised the question, wanted to update on what CW said. Makes no difference and had no idea why I'd even ask! Thanks for the feedback.
