Do you nest when you think you are getting a placment?

So, Alley Baby's little sister is 14 days old and still in the hospital. We are being considered as a placement. She was 5 weeks early and cocaine exposed. Do you think it is ok that I prepare for her to come even if it is not 100%? I am not going to lie to you, I have bought clothes! What do you think??

I bought clothes too!

I had a strong probabilty of a placement, and bought clothes and school supplies! haha, definitely nesting. Good thing for me, she visited this weekend and is hopefully moving in before the end of the month.

I've "nested" 2 times now, but neither placement came through. The 1st time I bought clothes and had to return them (a "phanton" baby my child's biomom said she had, but that a whole other story!). The 2nd time, I just got some food, which did not go to waste.

If the baby does come to you she will need clothes, and you will be pretty busy, so it makes sense that you are preparing now!

Its exciting to nest Good luck.

Oh, I do this all the time..if I see an outfit at goodwill that is just too cute to pass up I buy it. I have so many baby and toddler clothes now for a some day placement. I figure it is cheaper than running out to walmart or target to buy a new one if they ever send us a baby that has nothing. Plus if they send us a baby that has nothing they will need something to wear until I can get out and get new stuff. LOL see I can rationalize this very well. Dh used to say why? After our first placement showed up (3 kids) with just the clothes on their backs he is all for it now.

I am going through the nesting thing too. I am back on the placement list next week. I am doing an overhaul on the apartment by throwing out things and repositioning furniture. My bedroom has become storage central which is going to be the largest cleaning project.

I too recently purchased school supplies. I have tons of baby and toddler clothing for a boy. I have more than a few pieces for an infant and toddler girl. I was in Sears and saw some uniform shirts for school..I picked up a few shirts and later decided against it. I could not see them allowing me to put a school aged child in the same bedroom with Muscles.

I found out today we are on standby. The baby might be getting out tomorrow. We found out the baby also had heroine in her system and went thru w/drawals this weekend. That is so sad! I am so ready for this challenge to help this baby thrive and do the best for her!
