How fast do they increase visits before RU? Parents are not ready IMO (long, sorry)
FD is to be Ru'd at the end of september. She has been having 2 visits a week for two hours, supervised. this week they went to unsupervised. Next week they are increasing the visit time to 3 or 4 hours unsupervised. The next step will be in-home unsupervised visits, then over nights. When do they normally start transitioning to in-home or overnight? Im just trying to figure out a timeline for increasing visits up to RU. The parents have done the bare minimum to get her back, but I hope they can get their act together enough to be able to keep her. She has lots of medical problems and will need intense therapy for a long time. I am so worried about her and I know that if she is going to have any chance at catching up developmentally, going to school, participating in sports or other activities, then she will need parents that are willng to take her to therapy, work with her, and spend a lot of time with her. And right now, her parents are not able to give her what she needs, even with all the therapy and serivces DHHR will provide to them. They have never raised any of their other children, and have no idea the amount of attention this little girl will need for the rest of her life.
They dont even think she needs therapy!!!! She was 6 wks premature, drug exposed, has a heart condition, downs syndrome, and is already very far behind developmentally! I am worried sick that they will not be able to give her the kind of care she needs. She is such a good baby and I know if she has the chance she could come such a long way.

Our kids didn't RU, but when visits were increasing they went from 2 hours of supervised to all day unsupervised, then overnights, then overnights and an all day.
Only 2 weeks of days before overnights, then overnights for a month, when both began it all fell apart. The next step would have been weekends for a month and RU.
