Actually, they called us about a teen girl we had said yes to 5 months ago. Seems to be going well. I love the honeymoon phase

Feeling quite challenged but up for it.

Just something I've never done. You know..."teens" ..

There's presciptions, bc pills, wanting to go to a 17 and under club this Fri , a boyfriend, friends, etc. Territory of parenting I've never been on....whew.

LOL... All I can say is GOOD LUCK!!!!!

You will find that your mind is in so many places that you are not even sure where you left it LOL..

You will go bike shopping one day for one kid and car shopping the next for the other kid...

It is challenging to have little bitty ones and a teen (or in my case 3 teens all bio) and be able to think on all levels!!!

keep us posted..I have a lot of experience with teen boys..not so much on teen girls..I am getting 2 girls for respite next week they are 11 and 13 so I may be calling on you for advice then

You are very right on how my brain is feeling right now. I feel everywhere at once.

"Hey, I'm going to my friend "Steve's" just down the road Ok..." Ummm, no-ish....

Or my natural instinct to get all protective when young men or boys check her out and make small talk....
grrrr...don't you dare look at her...

It is even worst when they are older men and you see them checking out your 16 year old daughter. I saw that once with my daughter and it was all I could do to not go over to him and cause a huge scene.

I know. She's turning 15 this week. The guy at Dutch bros was about 25+. Seriously wanted to say "Knock it of you "dirty bird" she's only 14!" ulck...

She seems to be a wise-er than most young lady with a pretty good head on her shoulders. So hoping we can all work together to make this work...

I don't have any foster kids yet but I do have a 14 yr. old daughter who is also pretty.. You know like you said everyone looks at. Our rules are no tank tops (some are really low cut) and NO you can't go to "Sams" house until we meet Sam... or parents. WE have decided that we would rather them be here under our control then anywhere else.

First may I just say that a lot of times there are little girls (12-16 or so) that are allowed to dress in such a way that you would think they are much much older..

I was in Gordmans (department store) yesterday and there was this little girl coming in and out of the dressing room In my mind I thought she was late teens to early 20s.. Boy was I wrong..I over heard her mom make the comment "I am so sad that you will be turning 14 this weekend" I bout fell on the floor... MY boys were checking her out till they heard that..

I am saying all of that because....Yes I would be upset if my daughter was 14 and older guys were checking her out...BUT...I also think that parents need to teach their little girls how to dress like little girls... this little girl had on a pair of sweats pants that she had rolled the top down of to just above her pubic hair line..and a cut off T-shirt it was also cut down the front very very low..

So my suggestion is if you dont want guys checking her out then have her dress desent.. If she has low cut shirts on suggest that she wears a tankini under it...If her butt cheeks fall out the bottom of her shorts suggest taht she puts on a diff pair..

good luck lowlanders tell us of your experiences so that we may learn

That's the thing.... She wears nicely fitting shorts. Loves spiderman. So she'll wear vintage looking tees w/that and cute shoes. So she's not dressing sexy. Unfortunately, for us , she's just too pretty. The guys are still stopping in their tracks. So we've got alot of responsibility.

Tonight we meet her boyfriend.... I really hope we like him. I'll keep you guys posted
