In need of some help

So I bought what I thought was a great 4 in 1 crib. As of today the Crib model I bought has been recalled.
I was really mad at first but being the optimistic person I am after thinking about it for a few minutes. I realized this is a good thing. I say good thing in the sense that I would rather find out about a defective crib via recall than by way of some unfortunate situation. I also cant find the receipt. It was raining that day and the receiot was all balled up so my wife may have tossed it in the trash. With that said. I now need to find a new sleeping arrangement ASAP. I bought a 4 in 1 crib because since my age range is a little broad I figured this would come in handy. With the recall situation I am now feeling apprehensive about getting another crib that converts. So I am thinking since Infants would be placed with me more likely without visiting time should I just get a crib and if I get matched with a kid 3-5 then just get a toddler bed? What do you all think?

Hello, I just wanted to let you know you can go to the website the crib is from and look up the recall site. They will ask you to enter the model/serial # and manufac. date to make sure. If in deed it is a recalled crib, they will either send you the part to make it better/safer or they will tell you have you can get a refund or exchange. I always register my baby stuff new or used so that way if there is ever a recall, months or years down the line they will contact you to see if you still have it. Hope this help...unless you have money to burn.

I just had a crib ready and would have went out and bought a toddler bed if needed. My kids adjusted to a twin bed pretty quickly and "grew out of" the toddler bed. It is really more of a transition bed to me.

We have two cribs and twin bunkbeds in the same room. If the kiddos are too big for the crib they go in the twin bed with a rail so they don't fall out. Has worked great! Of course, we only have older kids sleep up top in the bunk.

I think I'd do what you suggest - get a regular crib, and be prepared to get another bed if necessary. However, I personally wouldn't bother with a toddler bed - I think they're a waste of money because the kids arent' in them for very long. I'd just go for a twin bed. Although, I suppose the advantage of a toddler bed is that it would fit the crib mattress you already would have.

Hi Chris - how about going back to the store where you purchased it from and letting them know - if you reach out to the atore manger he/she will be able to help you and hopefully exchange it - if not - then if you remembered what date you bought it on (checking your debit/credit card statement) you can bring it to the store (statement) and they can either exchange or refund money (dh works in retail) - hope that helps

Our Jardin crib was recalled. We just went to the website and found the info. You don't have to have the receipt at all. You have to send in pieces of the crib and fill out paperwork and they send you a certificate to buy another crib for the price that crib cost. Fairly easy.

I like the cribs that convert to a toddler bed. It just takes up less room. We have another crib that is just a crib, but we'd use the convertable one more.

If it makes you feel any better, the recall on the Jardin cribs included both convertable ones and nonconvertable ones.
