Does WIC pay for pedisure?

Does anybody know if WIC pays for pedisure? We go to the nutritionist soon and I know they are going to want A on pedisure. We had our middle child on it and it becomes very costly. He maintained his WIC so I was just wondering????

I googled your state for WIC and then went to the site and searched pediasure. It came back with this link

http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/ps/wic/...zationForm.pdf

It's the form the doc needs to fill out to request special nutritional supplies.

If they child need a large amount usually wic will give you a number to call. Its a company that carries medical supplies. They will contact your dr after speaking with you and then start delivering pediasure at your home. I get tons every month since my fs has to have three a day. I have the number if you want it pm me.

You can get the pediasure through WIC like pp have said. You just need to fill out a form with your doctor saying it is medically necessary. My son gets some ridiculous amount per month due to his feeding issues 18 cases of 6 or something.

Its so expensive!!!! But everything else makes him puke!

I will warn you, a lot of kids with feeding issues won't tolerate pediasure, if your son has a sensitive stomach or other feeding issues, be really careful changing him over to it as it might not be a good fit for him - there are many other options out there.

3-a-day!! How do you do it? When Britt was little we were lucky to get one in her and it had to be mixed with milk. K needs to be on it, but won't drink it. He's almost 2 1/2 and only 26 lbs.

Becki_in_IN--When dr prescribed it I was shocked too. But he is very small and for him to gain weight is so hard for him. He actually tolerates it fine. He loves strawberry the best. He has one early morning, usually falls asleeps again. Then one after lunch, before nap, and then one before bed at night. He also drinks one bottle of milk and one of juice at snack time. He no longer has feeding issue, but he just wont gain weight. Some days he eats more then my 7 yr old, but he wont gain anything.

My husband has had stomach surgery & has trouble keeping his weight up. He doesn't tolerate the milk based products well but we found a nestle product that is Juice flavored, he loves it & he is really picky, like a toddler, LOL. It is called Boost Breeze. You can find it at some drug stores but I order by the case. Here is the website, they also have several Pediatric products, even pudding. I don't know if WIC will cover it but thought I would offer up the info.

Wic covers it w/ a prescription for my FS (1). He is prescribed with 3bottles per day. Wic did ask that we try to get medicaid to cover it (which they supposedly do but it's a long process to get it approved) but will happily cover it in the meantime! Good luck! My little ones fav. flavor is Banana Cream- we had to have CVS order it for us
