Giving up our foster care license
After much thought, discussion, soul searching & prayer my husband & I have decided to give up our foster care license. We have been foster parents since 1998. We have 3 grown biological children, have adopted 3 and have legal custody of 1. We also have 4 grandchildren. It was the most difficult decision we have made in a long time but we have decided to focus our time & energy on the 4 younger ones we still have at home and our grandkids. Such a bittersweet decision!

You definitely deserve a lot of praise for your commitment to helping kids. It is a bittersweet decision, I am also giving up my license as soon as I adopt my 2 kids.

A social worker once told me that foster care is like everything else--it has it's season. We do not know if the season will be long like yours or much shorter. We are just called to serve for as long as the season lasts.

Congratulations on completing your task! You are an inspiration!
