Unhappy does anyone feel like it will never happen?

I am still waiting and it has been over a month. My agency says they have gotten no calls and I feel like it will never happen for me.Is this normal thinking? Any advise?

We waited exactly one year from the day we were licensed to get our first call. We had pretty much given up. Then in April we were called for a child who is scheduled to be placed with us. Hope you don't have to wait a year

It seems to go in cycles. There are times when very few children of a certain age will come into care and then times when DHS is flooded with that age.

my first placements came days before even being certified.A 16 year old boy who I declined and a sibling group of 5 all under 5 who needed to be split up.We took the 2 and 4 year old leaving the 4 month,1 year old and 3 year old to go to 2 other homes.
They were removed March 24 and now nothing. It is almost as if they forgot all about me I call / email weekly and I think they are getting tired of me.
I adopted 4 children in the past and it never took this long.I read post and I have experienced fast placements but not this time. This time is feels like my placement will never happen.........

Its a good thing actually this means kids are being taken care of and no need to be put into care.

We waited just over 3 months for our first placement last year. We did have a sibling group of 3 for a weekend. We haven't had a single call since then either but that first placement is still with us almost a year later and will hopefully be here permanently. I've been praying for a placement especially to keep me busy while waiting for the TPR court date later this month and appeal time etc. plus our foster daughter loves to play with other little ones. Our county currently is very low for placements. I'm hoping that means that parents are doing a good job not that things are not being reported/found out. Several foster parents have switched to agencies lately in hopes of more placements. Until things are finalized with our foster daughter we'll just wait and see.

Switching agencies, I have thought of that but if things are slow everywhere it may not help.I am with a private agency but got info from a county worker that things have been NO lately
