I am just curious....I know within 30 miles of my house there are many 'head shops' where drinks can be purchased to clean the system of drugs.

My foster sons dad is in drug court and has tested clean on all of his tests (which I am proud of him for) but....there have been instances where I would have sworn on my life that he was flying high.

The instances that I am speaking of are...At times he talks so fast he runs circles around his self...one time he reported that he pulled his own tooth. I am a huge baby but I could not imagine pulling my own tooth without some kind of numbing meds...He said he did it with a pair of wire plowers.

He is working (sometimes) but has absolutely NOTHING to show for it..he is far enough behind in his rent he is fixing to get evicted.. he has 2 storage sheds that he owes around 600 in past rents...I guess this alone doesnt prove any kind of drug use just lack of budgeting skills..

Have any of you heard of bios cheating on drug tests? If so what will be done?

Most worker if noticed will require the test then be done by the hair as opposed to urine

You can buy clean urine at head shops. It is synthetic but will "pass" the test. They tape the vial on their chest/stomach then tape a tube from the vial to their nether regions and viola.

Blood or hair are much more reliable and do not require the "donor" to collect (pollute) samples.

Keep in mind many times legal and prescribed drugs can have a person displaying the same behaviors you suggested.


I also know many people that can pull their own teeth. Makes me want to yak and pass out at the thought but they're not on drugs, they're just tough guys that don't want to spend the moola on a dentist visit - or they're chicken :P

Ya ever watch Deadliest Catch on Discovery channel? There's a kid on there named Jake, fishes on his dads boat for Alaskan crab. He pulled his own tooth (or rather busted it up trying) with a pliers while they were in the middle of nowhere because it was giving him trouble. I had to change the channel. It's not unusual.

it is amazing the skills drug addicts have when it come to testing clean! I knew of a mom that would buy clean urine and then insert it in herself with a balloon and pop it when it was time to test and I heard of another case where a man actually bought an "appendage" that looked like the real think and it held "clean urine" and when he squeezed it the clean urine would flow as if he were really peeing! The stories go on and on.....

Yes urines can be tampered with. That is why at my work we use swabs. A swab in the mouth (much like a DNA test) cannot be beat.

There's also a kind of belt like thing that has a reservoir for clean urine. There's tube that leads from the artificial bladder for output.

Yeah. It's possible to cheat in a million ways.

Addicts are pretty creative when it comes to piss quizes. That is why we switched to oral swabs. Impossible to beat.

Swab tests work great in instances of spot checking without any advance warning (but then again, so do Urine, if they don't know its coming) - the problem with 'testing' is that typically 'random' drug testing isn't 'random' at all - thus, allowing the person to prepare for the test.

I know of this situation in our area where someone was selling clean urine from their toddlers potty chair. It was used by a women internally with a condom. Sick business.

Wow..I knew of the drinks but this other stuff you all are speaking of is way crazy!!!!!

I have a friend that works at one of those shops and I asked questions..she said that they even had shampoo and body wash that would clean the hair of drug evidence...

How could/would you prove this is happening? I really like my fs dad and wish him the best..But at the same time I want the little man to have the best chance he can at life...

Just some food for thought.....it's possible that he is testing clean because he's not using. The behaviors you've mentioned could also be attributed to unmedicated mental illness. A number of people with significant mental illness use illegal substances to manage their symptoms.

absolutely agree sadoyle116...I have absolutely NO proof that he is using...I just have some suspicions, I have an alcoholic/drug using cousin so I have seen the effects first hand from him. I used to try to help him all I could, he would come and crash on my couch to "sober up" and eat a meal (years before I became a foster parent) and some of the same actions I seen from him I see in my foster sons dad...

I am very glad I found this post. I have been having the same questions lately. I figured there were ways to fake the test to pass, but I never imaged all this. I had two kids a boy and girl who went home in September last year to their mom. She had to pass drug tests while I had the kids. I recently found out she has been using drugs in front of her kids, so I questioned my agency on the process of the drug tests. I'm still waiting on the reply. I currently have 2 girls whose parents are both heavy users of drugs but of course are testing clean now, because they want their kids back. My oldest is 13 and knows all, she is convinced her dad either is still using drugs now, or if not he will start again when they return home. Knowing what I know about the parents history with drugs I find it hard to believe either has quit cold turkey just like that, especially their mom. Is there anything I can do to get dhs to verify they aren't cheating on the drug tests? My 13 year old knows about my previous placement going home and thier mom using drugs, the previous girl is the one who told the 13 year old that her mom is using drugs in front of her. How can I tell the 13 year old that if she goes home everything will be ok. I don't believe that, she won't believe that.
Since my previous placement went home, I have reported several things to dhs but they don't do anything. I am so frustrated with the system right now, and I've only told half the story here.

last year or so, my teenager dd told me this story about a time she went with her parent for a "test" and said the parent made HER pee in the cup. "why would xx do that," she asked. well, honey, because your parent was cheating on a drug test. lol. i was pretty sure that the testee was supposed to go in the room alone, but just another example of how things aren't always done the way they should be. dd would have been about 3 or 4....so i'm sure parent used the excuse that she was little or something.

also, my father, used to work in construction. his workers were constantly being called in for random(scheduled a week in advance, lol) drug (urine) tests...and TRUST me.....these workers knew how to beat drug tests- supplements, cleansers, i've heard more stories than i care to have. lol. let's just say, where there's a will, there's a way.
