OT: What double stroller do you like best?

I probably need something that is kind of all terrain (beach, mall, dirt, etc.). It doesn't necessarily have to be a jog stroller, however we do walk a lot. I have been eyeing the Bob all terrain stroller, but at $400 or more I want to be sure it is "the one." Any thoughts?

This will not be helpful at all (sorry), but I hate them all!! I have had 4 different Double strollers and they are all like pushing a small bus or train car around! To big for the trunk, to big in the doctors office, to wide for the shopping isles, and just a pain in general!! With that said I have had to use one weekly for over 2 years now (and I am sure for a few more to come) and it would stink not to have one!! Good luck and I hope you find one that is awesome!! If you do be sure to let me know!!!

Where in CA do you live? I have one in like new condition. I bought it for my son and my foster baby that I was suppose to adopt. I never even used it, she left us a week after I bought it We are done fostering for now and it is just sitting in my garage. I bought it used from a friend who has twins but it is in REALLY great shape. It is the Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller it is a teal and brwon color. I wish i could use it. It actually folds decent for a double. You can view some like it at babiesrus.com

Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Plus Stroller!!!

I LOVE this STROLLER!!! I use it in stead of my single.

Yes it is long, but it handles well. I take it to the mall and walking in our neighborhood. Both on side walks and on the street.

It folds to fit in the trunk of our sonata, if I need to take HD car.

I wasn't sure if I could post a link were I got mine (PM me if you want to know,) but it is listed for under $220 with free shipping.

I highly recommend the Mountain Buggy. It is a side by side, but fits through doorways and handles like a dream! A family I nanny for has the double, and I used it all the time, when the kids were small. I love them so much, I got the single version for myself. I have used both the single and double in all kinds of terrains, and they are fabulous!

Now that D is going to be older, and we are going to be taking in another foster kid, I am going to get the boogie board to attach to my single. I prefer baby wearing to strollers actually. So when I do need to use a stroller, I will probably put the baby foster in a carrier and push D in the stroller. The woman I worked for will be selling her double soon, and it is very tempting...I love that stroller so much!

As for cost, check out sites like craigslist. I got my Mountain Buggy, plus the accessories, for $150. The woman I bought it from took great care of it, and it was like new. If I had bought everything brand new, it would have run me $650!

I have this one as well and l love it as well! The only down side is it doesn't have a tray for the babies. Its not a deal breaker for me though because it handles so well!

Also, if you are willing to spend $400 on a stroller a better option may be to buy a side by side and a tandem stroller and you can pick which one will best suit what you need it for for the day.

I have a Valco Twin Roundabout. I love it. It is all terrain and pushes like a dream. It took a little bit to get used to as far as folding goes in the beginning. I also have a Babyplanet Unity that is MUCH more compact that I use for quick outings. I bought the Valco off of ebay and the Babyplanet off of craigslist.

Both are side by side. I am just not a fan of the tandems, personally.

A friend is letting me borrow a Graco stroller. It's a tandem one, and it's difficult to turn.

Is this typical for double strollers?

I just got a Graco off Craigslist. Of course it is much more lumbersome than a single, but I only paid $100 for it, so I'm thrilled.

Depends on the stroller. Mine is very easy to turn, the Graco Quattro is easy to turn but the Graco DuoGlider is a pain to turn.

I have the Graco Quattro Tour Duo stroller and I love it! Not a single complaint. It's really big but it handles well. We use it daily. It has great storage, lots of cup/snack holders, and it is really easy to fold.

I've had many expensive strollers (Peg Perego, MacCl, etc.) in the past and this is one is by far my favorite.

Thanks all for the recommendations! I do not like the Kolocraft Options tandem stroller. I have had that before and hated it. I have been looking at the Graco Quattro Duo. My only concern with it is that it is big and the wheels are plastic. I think I want something with tires. Do the plastic wheels make a difference on non sidewalk terrain?

Thanks guys! YOu are helping so much!

I looked into every option I could find when my niece came to us. I've had everything from an el cheapo POS to the Bentley of strollers and I've come to the conclusion that it's worth the extra money to get something good.

I have a Tike Tech Trax double and am so thrilled with it. Here's a link to the only site I've seen them on: HappyMothers.com. It is 1" thinner than standard doorways and turns on a dime. We do a lot of off-road type of activities and I have to chuckle when we zip right by people with standard strollers who are literally stuck in the dirt. I have finally found my ultimate stroller after 3+ years of searching.

The only drawback is that it does not have a cup holder. Happy Mothers sells various add-ons with cup holder options. I've made a canvas substitute that works well enough as a replacement but is the same idea as what they sell.

I give this 6 stars out of 5. Really. It's that good.

That is one cool looking stroller!! I am looking for a single jogger. I wonder if that is the one I need.
