UserNames

Last year we had an interesting thread on the origins/meanings of our usernames.

I thought that with so many new people on board it might be fun to do it again.

My username reflects the spelling of my real first name. Nope, I'm not telling what my real name is. If you want to guess go for it. No one guessed last year.

A few years ago I went to a livestock show with my family. There were two female llamas fighting over a baby llama and I said something to the effect of "whoa - momma llama drama". Everyone laughed and "Mamallamadrama" became a family inside joke. The name I usually use online was taken so I tried mamallama.

I got mine about 11 years ago.

My then 2 yr old son was in the back seat of the truck just babbling away. I was in my usual rush, trying to get somewhere on time--school, home, appointment? I don't remember.

I do remember him yelling at me, "Do you hear me? Do you HEAR ME!"

I looked in the mirror and said, "What?"

"You," he informed me with his little index finger pointing in the mirror, "are NOT Batman!"

Couldn't argue with that!

"So," I asked, "who am I?"

He thought for a few minutes, turning over the not-Batman toy in his hand. He looked up into the mirror and said, "You can be the Green Robin."

And so I have been for the last 11 years.

One of my favorite books growing up "Twas the Night before Christmas" The page with the sugarplums was always my favorite. I used to think they look so good why don't we eat sugarplums - now I have no desire to try a sugared plum - but the memory is sweet.

My brother started calling me Crick when we were kids and it just stuck as a nickname. I asked him once if it was short for crickets (loud chirpy annoying little sister) He did not confirm but did not deny either. Hmmm...LOL!

In college I took a little blue antideppressant, and it gave me extremely vivid dreams...and for a while I was dreaming in shades of blue...so for many years I was "DreamingBlue" DreamingAzure is just a step up, cause you know everything sounds better in French :P

My username is the name I gave to cat...

There was a baby kitten that lived in the underground parking area of the apartment building a friend lived in. This little kitty looked about 6 weeks old and one day decided to follow my friend and her dog in through the door to the elevator, followed them into the elevator, out of the elevator and into her apartment (all without any prompting). My friend could not keep her due to allergies so I was chosen. When I took Dickons to the vet I found out she was at least 6 months old and starving...she became my best friend and traveled with my first hubby and I in our Peterbuilt across country for many years, jumping onto the hood of the truck to watch it get loaded, following us around where ever we were without leash. Even going so far as to attaching a customs agent who searched our truck at the border. My fearless kitty who I was blessed to have for over 15 years, my friend, allie and mate.

Kind regards,
Dickons

My nickname and the one i use online....while I've met a few people with my name, it is unusual enough for people to look me up or try and guess or whatever, guess I'm leery of identity theft and hacking???? don't know if that makes sense.

people always called me a "pretty boy" since I had a "nice" smile and seemed very "pretty" for a boy. Then one day someone messaged me and wrote it with an I and it stuck so I became Prettyboicris.

Canadamom92 - I chose it when I belonged to an online pregancy chat group that mostly had people from the US on it. 92 is the year I first became a Mom.

Waiting for decision on a boy/girl sib group (3 & 4), a sib group of two boys (8 & 9), a teen boy (14), and on J (11) that we were matched with and then told we probably won't be able to have after all.

Withay - Jenny? Kelly? Kym? Chrissy?

My user name is something I have had to remind myself of a lot through many stressful times. Most of my user names for groups online have to do with my messy dogs, the source of most of my stress.

When I was in a foster group home as an early teen one of my closest foster "sisters" and friend had a "street name" of Mystik. We spent over a year together bouncing from the streets back to the group home again and it was a very significant part of my life. I always loved the name and when I eventually moved away in my late teens I got a cat & named her Mystik too, then as I became more familiar with the internet the name turned into my most common username.
