Finally something good happens. Bio mom had filed taxes on the kids even though she was told she was not allowed to. She used that money to get her apartment. Well we got a letter from the caseworker stating we were the ones that had the children for the appropriate amount of time she did a great job breaking it all down for them. Then we paper filed with the letter. This was I don't know around 6 - 8 weeks ago. Everyone said it would take at least 6 months for it to get sorted out. Well we got our tax refund deposited today for the full amount owed to us. We are going to use it to take these kids on a mini vacation to a water park hotel for a couple of days and redecorate the foster kids room and save the rest for future placements.

Wow, that is great news! How wonderful for this to get straightened out so much faster than you initially thought. I hope you and your family have a ton of fun on your vacation!

I hope this happens in our case. We adopted in 2006 and found out when we efiled that someone else (bp's) filed claiming them this year. We had to paper file also and are waiting. It's only been about 3 weeks though. Just make sure to change their ss#'s. Everyone made me feel as thought I was just waiting for something to happen so I didn't change theirs. Well, I'm regretting that decision now. But they will be changed this year!

Thanks everyone !! We went shopping today for new swimsuits for the trip. They show commericals for the hotel we are going to all the time and its funny because the little girl keeps saying Mommy I want to go there and now I can finally say we are. Cute story..I told her we were going and that they had lots of swimming pools and different things and I said and best of all we get to sleep there. She looked at me like I was stupid and said mommy I don't want to sleep in the water! Then I explained it too her and said no there are rooms to sleep in with beds and bathrooms and a tv and we would sleep there. My daughter came home and she very excitedly said sissy we are going to the pool and we can pee while we are there. LOL I guess she will see how it works when we get there.

Yes, we went there for one night a couple of years ago and had a great time. Always said if we go back it needs to be for at least 2 days so you can do it all to your liking. We are in Indiana the hotel is about 20 min. from our house. We had to get 2 rooms this time because of all the kids we are taking you get 4 bands per room for swim area so we asked mil to come along for a break for her since its paid for and going to go to waste. They are doing pay for one night get second night free on certain days so now is the time to try to go if you can. The hot tub and lazy river are fabulous!
