need creative ideas

Ok even though TPR is filed and CPS it trying their hardest to get it done I don't think the judge is going to grant it. Soooo before the kids are sent back I was thinking how nice it would be to repaint their bedroom (really needs it now) and put a nice saying across the top and have each foster child put their handprint with their names and ages under them on the wall. I need ideas for what to put at the top of the wall. I really like " A MOMENT IN OUR LIVES A LIFETIME IN OUR HEARTS " anyone have any other ideas? Dh and I think it would be nice for all the kids that come into our home see that they are not the first and maybe feel less alone and scared.

I have a quote nearly exactly like that that I put on an apron and in my last Fson's scrapbook.

All of my kids (and the dog) have made stepping stones with their hand prints that are in the garden. My son did it the 2nd year he was with me (before finalized) my Fson and former Fson did it a month before the former left (They're related and one stayed)... the dog was done a few years ago.

Now I think I'll do that within the first couple months because I did have other placements that didn't stay and I wish I had theirs done too.

We do stepping stones too. We did ones where each kid picked a theme or something they wanted on it and did mosaic designs. Then we added the kids initials and the date on it too. I love the hand print idea but I am too lazy I used existing stepping stones, drew the design on with a sharpie, glued the mosaic stones on and then grouted it. They came out really nice. One of my sons is a huge N.O. Saints fan so we did a fleur de lis and my DD had a rabbit at the time and we did a very cool bunny. I had a baby at the time and I traced her footprints and a hand print and then filled it in with mosaic glass/stones (the pic of hers was before it was done, I filled in around the design with other glass). It came out really cute. Let me see if I can attach some pics to show off a little

Those are some great ideas!! We would draw their names on a wall in the room...but then we moved...so we had to paint over it.
So these are really great ideas. Thanks for the suggestions!

Oh I LOVE the stepping stone idea. We are hoping to buy a bigger house (for more placements of course) in the next few years and I would be very sad at painting over the hand prints but would have to be done. I think I'll do both that way I'll have a forever rememberance too. I knew you all had great ideas!!

We do stepping stones too. Well, we've only had the one placement, but we've done one for my daughter and one for Lil Buddy. I would really like to do one in rememberance of my DS who passed away at birth, but I don't know what to do.

I'd hate to paint over the wall too. Both sounds like a great idea!!

SarahBethsMommy: What about a bird as a stepping stone in memory of your son? Both doves and sparrows are common birds representing a passing or representing a spirit.

Personally, I'm getting a star tattooed for each fc that passes through our home. I'm currently looking for a new artist and the right stars to go well with my preferred tattoo style. The children won't see my tattoos. These are not for them, they are for me. I'm working on a multipart piece that represents our family and want them included in some small way. When I mentioned this idea to DH, he really liked it.

I like the idea of a bird. I've also thought about a shooting star. (I want a tatoo of a star and a shooting star to respresent my daughter and my son... I'd add more as we adopt or have more bio kids)
