Red face I'm evil

Ok, I did something out of pure naughtiness and I need to spill my guts somewhere.

You see, I've had an issue with a cw since 1997... Yup, 12 years. We used to work together when I was a cw. I never liked her much, she was loud and arrogant. She was constantly cheating on her husband and once propositioned my hubby! We tried stopping any contact but she was a part of a group of friends and she was a friend of my cousin so it was kind of hard to avoid her.

So eventually I leave the agency and become a foster parent and she does everything she can to try to make my life HELL. She became a supervisor over the foster parent workers and was continually trying to find reasons for our workers to write us up, then we'd have to call in a mediator who ALWAYS sided with us. In November 2007 she put our license on "Administrative Hold" because we agreed to take a non-related kinship placement she didn't approve first (she never had to approve any placements before). On top of that she sabotaged our efforts to switch agencies and THEN the worse thing... she threatened the adoption of A2 in November 2007 (when the NR kinship placement came). In December 2007 the agency finally fired her.

About a year ago I was adjusting the radio and didn't look up in time to see she was in the cross walk illegally... I could have had her!

So Friday I'm looking through our state tax delinquencies that are on-line to check to see if a certain tenant was listed (I have rental houses). Who should I find... that's right, she was on there with tax delinquencies going back to 1997. I looked up the court case and noticed they were getting nowhere because they were using her last known employeer, where she was fired from.

... ok, so this is where I get naughty... ... I sent an email to our state tax authority letting them know who her current employeer is. They replied they will be following up and file in court soon.

I know it was naughty, vindictive, and flat out not nice amongst a few other things (but they would probably be deleted by the forum police )

I thought maybe I'd feel a little better, maybe reap a little of what she sowed. I'd feel like pond scum if it weren't for the fact that state revenues are so poor I almost didn't get a paycheck last week and our state income tax return is still on hold until they have the money to pay it... so I'm putting my own little twist on it that we all have a requirement to pay our taxes and she is no different.... she just had someone finally catch her. Ok, that didn't work either.

In any case, thanks for letting me get it out there and confess my sin and vengeance on someone who I still feel deserves it. I may get a few hate emails... I might even have a few that would have drawn the line with her proposition on my hubby... but it's out there now.

She owed taxes, she has an obligation to pay. You told the government where she worked so she will have to pay.

Leave the rest of the story alone and then you did nothing wrong.

Karma. If she had been kinder to you, you would have read her name on the list, thought "Oh, how sad for her" and moved on. "The evil that men do lives after them..."

Good for you!

You simply facilitated a collection. With our current economy, you helped out our government. If more people did that, maybe we would not have to cut our foster care budgets so much. Thank you!

P.S. I have a karma thing I'm going to do when FD turns 18. Her judge in the case was a jerk with a capital J. When she turns 18, I am going to write a letter to that judge stating what he did ane how he was a jerk (obviously I'll leave the jerk word out).

I agree with all the op's. But I'd like to add that our country would be in less of a "fix" if everyone would do their part in helping to collect all the back taxes owed by EVERYONE! If all of the evaders would be found - and collected upon - the 'fix' wouldn't be quite so bad.

Regardless of the reasons - I'm giving KUDOs to you.

I would have done the exact same thing!!!! Good for you! I also agree with PP's that we all owe taxes -- I know I have paid mine.

If it were me, I'd have to send her a note to tell her I saw her name online showing she owed back taxes and I hope "everything will be alright now" since she has a new job and can start paying back what she owes. I would want her to know it was me although I wouldn't come right out and mention that I told on her. Maybe you can let your cousin know her name is online and she'll pass along the info.

Brandyn Coppedge died on 9/11/09. Rosie Smith died on 9/30/09 and Thapelo Kwofie died on 11/1/09. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is no longer recommending safety kits. They are now recommending that anywhere children live or visit should be free of corded window products.

LOL.... all of your posts are terrific! I really appreciate that you could understand.

When I found the tax delinquency I was not seeking to harm her, but when I found it the evil little sprite in me took over . I reported not from the duty of a citizen (good) but more out of spite (bad). I guess sometimes the worst of intentions can still be the right thing.

I definitely agree about Karma... and she should have learned long ago just knowing me that THIS momma bear would eventually attack.

Since her agency recently got the foster care case management contract I think I will continue to fly under her radar and not let her in on what I did. She's MORE evil than me and although I don't plan to take any future long-term placements that doesn't mean something might change.... and besides, I have enough exposure in the community that I don't want her to start looking for or planning any revenge.

Sometimes revenge is a dish served cold and annonymous!
