I just emailed my cw and asked if I could have a copy of my homestudy because I wanted to mail out copies to other counties for the purpose of adoption. 2 counties over from me have a high rate of adoption. The cw said it is not appropriate to mail them my homestudy. Does anybody else have info on doing this?

Also if I had my foster to adopt homestudy done by an agency not cps. Well cps paid for it. How would I go about getting a regular domestic homestudy? If I went through the same agency would they just charge me to update what they already have on file, or would I have to start at square 1 again.

If the child or children you're interested in are in another county, then from everything I've understood it is up to the DCF office or your agency that you work with job to send the homestudy to the CW of the child(ren) you are interested in. Then the CW from the other county should contact you.

I'm sure your homestudy agency will use the homestudy for DCF as a jump off point. In a perfect world they would just update it and charge you an update price. In an imperfect world, they might make you do everything over again because doesn't DCF own that homestudy since they paid for it?
