It has been a very busy month in my household! We welcomed baby D (at 3 weeks old) into our household in January and then H (8 years old) came in February. We are all adjusting and doing some major reorganizing in our closets to fit all the additional clothes, toys, blankets, etc. H is the oldest child we have ever had living in our home so it has been a new experience for me. I registered her for 2nd grade in a new school which is something I've never done before and we decorated her room completely in Hannah Montana! My heart breaks for her every day. She literally went to school one day and social services picked her up and brought her to our house. Her whole world changed and she had no say and no way to change anything. Considering the fear, anger, sadness, and frustration I'm sure she is feeling she has handled it amazingly well.

Today is her first visit with her mother and her siblings and I hope it goes well. I know that some of you have older children in foster care so I might be reaching out to you with questions or concerns.

Yeah, that always seems so harsh, being taken straight from school. We've got two right now that came that way. They arrived with nothing and weren't able to get a single thing from home for over a month. One of them is an 8 yr old girl, too.

I remember the first time we got an 8 yr old girl, how scared she was by it all. These kids are so amazingly resiliant. Good luck!
