she's gone in a blink of the eye

Our Little Pea has gone home today. The judge ordered her back home with her Mom...after not even a week of foster care and it has been turned over to Family Services. So, I got to see if my tear ducts work, YEP, they do! Hopefully her mom protects her!

So sorry about that. It hurts when our foster babies leave and it hurts worse when they go back to circumstances that haven't really changed.

We took our littlest one back today as well. No tears yet, but I think I cried myself out when we found out it would happen a few weeks back. I guess we'll see what happens from here.

I hope you everything works out well for her. I always wonder how/why a child can be taken into care and then returned so swiftly. It just seems odd.

My first placement was with us 2 days. We went to get him from daycare and they said he didn't come back from his visit. So I called the SW and she was all apologetic that she'd forgotten to call - he went back. That was after the worker asked us if we'd be interested in adopting him.

Now I'm still uneasy with our current placement. I always have this tiny *maybe he won't be there* feeling when I go to get him. It made me realize how easily a child's trust can be broken, if I - an adult - can be affected by something like this.
