Co-Dependency At It's Finest
Back during the summer *A's* bio mom was arrested and spent about 4 months in jail for assault with a weapon towards the bio dad, who she was living with despite a court order for them to not have anything to do with each other and as part of her plan to RU with *A*.
Needless to say her RU services were terminated shortly after that and bio dads RU services were terminated nearly a year ago. However, once he realized his back up plan failed (of having bio mom & *A* RU so he could still be part of *A's* life) he threw a big stink and decided to try and re petition the court to have his RU services reinstated. I don't think anything ever came of that petition, but I guess the CW was a little worried about what he might have up his sleeve & what sort of case he might be able to build (the burden of proof was on him and no longer CPS). It turns out however, that he is now in jail himself because despite the bio mom's assault on him leading to her jail time... he decided to move back in with her as soon as she got out, which in turn broke the latest no contact order towards each other. So now that she's out he's in and the CW informed me today that this just sealed the case and lost him any chance he had whatsoever of trying to get his services reinstated. I find the whole thing sad and yet rather humorous. I only wish I could understand their motivations and why they keep making these choices. I am extremely relieved however that this whole mess is finally nearing an end. TPR is set for early February and from the sounds of it the bios can appeal, but neither has a case or hope to go on.

It's sad to me that some of these parents would choose to continue their bad habits and risk losing their children. I can see that happening with drug addiction b/c the desire to use is so strong, but I can't understand why the parents with more "minor" offenses can't follow simple directions.
FWIW, it does sound like things are going to work out for A. She'll get to remain with you and be in a stable home. Thank goodness for that!
