We waited 10 months for a placement, but then we only were accepting legally free for adoption kids, because we wanted to adopt.

My first call was the day after I was licensed to accept one child. Then six months later, I called the agency and open my home to take in two children. Two days after that, I got a call for a newborn. But, I live in New York. This state is pleading for people to sign up as foster parents.

I am in a pretty rural area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Right now I am licensed for a girl, newborn to 4 years old. We are about to change it to 2 children, either sex, newborn to 5. Hopefully that will get us some more calls. In the back of my mind, though, I wonder if we aren't getting calls because of the shady charactors of the people whom I am related to, but estranged from. Guess that's something I will get an answer to if I ever get a call!
