What age groups do you take?

I'm just curious as to what age groups people foster, and if you get calls for other ages.

We said we only want 0-3 (and have an infant right now), and we've had a call for a 16yo!

Initially we said 0-3. Our first call was for a 16 year old girl and HER baby! Talk about being shocked! We didn't accept, or rather couldn't. We totally weren't set up for that scenario.

We've since changed from 0-6 but have gotten calls for older kiddos and accepted a sibling group of three ages 6, 8 and 10 last year.

All the rest of our kiddos have been age 2 and under.

This is the second time tonight I've read about a placement of teen and baby. Wow! When the time is right, (pregnant myself right now) I would love to do that. What a way to help get a good start going and help them Keep their child. Ok...I'm inspired!

We're licensed for 0-11 yr old, but we have a DD who is 11 and we don't want to have a child her age. It all depends on the call though. I would prefer to have a child up to about 8 or 9.

we will take any, but have teenagers now. we had ds and his mom at one point.
i don't really want any little ones competing in my own kids' age bracket right now. i like the big gap in ages here.

We take 0-6, my first call was for a 1 yr old and his 7 yr old brother, we did take them. After 8 months we had to move the 7 yr old because he needed a higher level of care. We then changed it to 0-5, but mostly got 3 and under. Right now I have 6 yr old, 3 yr old and a 3 month old, plus my bio son that is almost 9.

I put 6-12 of my application. But I am open to newborn and up to 12. Of course I am making sure the worker sees my pack n play and car seat though (for those emergency baby calls) at my home visit. My son is almost 14 and I would looove to take care of a baby again...even if just for a few days. But of course he would rather have someone who is actually good at video games to play with.

I take 0-3. My 1st baby girl was 3 months and my 2nd baby girl was 6 days. My agency has lots of babies.

We're licensed for kids 0-7, but we've never really held fast to that. We did refuse when they asked us to take a respite placement of two 17 year old boys with us on vacation (ha!). Currently our oldest FD will turn 13 in about a week and our youngest FS is 4 1/2. The other two just turned 6 and 7. We've told our CW that we can't take any kids under age 3 for right now. My son is 2 1/2 and I'm about 7 months pregnant, so I just can't handle another little one currently.

we said we would take 0-4 and have an 8 month old placement. now we changed it to 1-5. i don't think i could handle 2 under age one because i have an almost 5 year old and 2 and a half year old. i am hoping we get a call for another placement. i'm actually surprised that we haven't been called yet. i think a 1 and a half and 3 year old sibling group would be fun. everyone thinks i'm nuts. i just keep thinking that if we haven't gotten a call yet that means kids are not coming into care and that's good.
