Off topic, fun question

With Halloween coming......

CHOCOLATE!!!!

What's your stand on it? White? Milk? Dark? With nuts? Without? None at all? The more the better? What about fillings? What's good covered in chocolate?

As for me my favorite is dark chocolate! Milk chocolate is acceptable, though. I'm not a big white chocolate fan but my DH is.

As far as "stuff" with my chocolate, I like nuts, crisped rice or caramel. Peanut butter is not my favorite, and I am definitely anti-fruit-flavored centers or having marshmallows involved in my chocolate.

Okay, I don't really care for chocolate, I'm more of a twizzler type girl and like all the gummy junk. But when I do eat chocolate is has to be dark chocolate w/nuts (yummy!!!). I don't care for milk chocolate, but if its the shape of a snicker, I'll eat it.

To add to the off topic, what are you all dressing your kids as for Halloween.

My 8 yr old is Iron Man or Bumblebee from Transformer, my 5 yr still hasn't made up his mind, he wants to be a transformer too, maybe optimus prime, my 2 yr old will be Batman and the 2 month old will be Robin.

I'll bite... (sorry. Couldn't resist.)

Dark chocolate. Either plain, with red chili or bacon. Yes. Bacon. Glorious, smokey, salty bacon. Hmmm... I may have to add some chili the next time I make bacon chocolates... Cinnamon is good too in chocolate.

DH loves white chocolate. R will eat what is available though he prefers milk chocolate.

I'm not a big chocolate fan either... which is a good thing since I can't have it right now while breast feeding.

My daughters are going as Hannah Montanna and a cheerleader from High School Musical.

My son is going to be a little bear.

My teenager has asked to work so he'll be dressed as a Sonic Car Hop.

ON Halloween Costumes, Austin will be a Ninja, but is going to have to make his weapons out of cardboard because we will not buy toy weapons.

Okay... Bacon and chocolate?!?!?

Wow... and I thought I was crazy to eat ice cream with jalapenos...

lol @ all of our crazy quirks...

I'm not a chocolate fan, but if I must, it must be milk chocolate only. No Dove (gross), and no nuts or fruit, or things like that...

And my boys are going to be Backyardigans...

I know the bacon and chocolate combo sounds gross. I totally get it.

However, chocolate tastes great on salty pretzels. So, the salty combo is a known element. Some chef thought of pairing bacon with chocolate and discovered gold as far as I'm concerned. My team at work is a bit bacon obcessed. When one of us found that a chocolatier is selling bacon stuffed chocolate for $12 for 1.2 ounces (with shipping and tax it comes to $160 per lb.), I quipped that I could make at least 2 lbs for $12. So, they called me on it and sent me pig shaped candy molds.

I now make bacon chocolates for my coworkers in their chocolate of choice. (I find the white ones to be too sweet.) I grill the bacon because I love the added smokey from the grill and HATE the smell of cooking bacon in the house. Once the bacon is run through the food processor, the resulting bacon crumbles give the finished candy a texture similar to chocolate with rice crispies in it.

Oh, and R is going to be a vampire this year.

I prefer REAL food over chocolate but I do like candy bars-I love Reese's and Snickers, those are my faves, I also like most name brand cany bars with nuts. I am LOVE the sweet and salty combo so while the bacon/choc combo sounds yucky I bet I would like it.

Daniel is going to be a gorilla or a spider. We got him the gorilla last year after Halloween, it was HUGE then but he had a major growth spurt so now its shorter on the arms then I prefer, I am weird about clothes being/looking to small. Its not too bad though, its acceptable and he has already worn it several times but a friend was getting rid of a spider costume and sending it my way so I will let him choose between those two.
Michael is a caterpillar and Claire is going to bea leopard. I spent less than $4 on all their costumes by buying after Halloween clearance last year!!

That sounds exactly like me, there is nothing more that urks me that a too short shirt or too short shorts or pants. I am constantly telling the boys, that's too small take it off and give it to me. That doesn't fit you, your too tall etc. They on the other hand could care less. Boys looking like they are wearing daisy dukes and a tube top, just doesn't look good to me, LOL.

ROFLMBO

I must say I like that just about as much as the pants with the ahem down to the knees that they have to keep a hand in the pocket to keep them up. I actually saw one kid who had to stand with his feet 3 feet apart to keep his pants from falling down. Don't have a clue as to how he could walk.

As for the chocolate question. I LOVE chocolate. Not dark chocolate mind you, it is too bitter. Give me either a peanut butter cup or a warm, gooey snickers right off the conveyor belt at M&M Mars in Henderson, NV. Yep, that is what I had for dinner one night - two of em in fact. Yumm.

One single piece of dark chocolate held in my mouth while I sip good red wine around it--oh, man.

Kiddos will be Spiderman redux, except this time he has muscles! And a fairy princess because any costume without wings just won't do!

I love Lindt white chocolate truffles.

My four year old, three year old and 8 month old are all going to be pirates. They are all boys.

I don't care for "just chocolate" - I will tolerate it on a Butterfinger, Milk Duds, Whoppers, or on Peanutbutter Cups, but would rather just the yumy centers.

Give me candy corn, caramels, taffy, Sweet-Tarts, Smarties, and Tootsi Rolls.
