Love my CW

No, really, I do. At least so far. I know that a lot of you have problems with your CW's, so I thought I would post a happy CW post.

I have been licensed for 2 months, but I haven't had a placement yet. So, maybe once that happens I'll feel differently, but for now I really do like my CW. He always returns my calls (and promptly!), and he even encourages me to call him to check in every once in a while. After he came to our home to meet us the first time once we were licensed, he even called to thank us for letting him come meet our family and said we have a nice home.

So, those of you that are thinking of fostering, there really are good CW's out there!

Mine is awesome too! It is the cw's assigned to the children's cases that usually are the problem. They tend to be overworked and underpaid. One cw told me that she was just "doing her time until she could get a better job in her field!"

I am assuming you have an adoption worker? Mine is WONDERFUL! She is very good. I have been lucky with all social workers involved with my case but my adoption worker is the best. My guess is that by the time the case gets to them it is pretty mellow. They aren't as overworked or see as much as the children's workers.

I love both of mine as well. I have one through my agency and another one on the case through CPS. So far, it's be good and I'm developing a good relationship with my local CPS and the CASA/GAL.

Okay, we do all have good (and bad) stories of our cw. Fortunately for me, my licensing worker is GREAT, and all 3 of my kids cw are great. They return my calls, get me the stuff I need and keep me posted. We are licensed districtwide so we can get kids from 4 different counties. I have worked with other cw from other counties but prefer this one county where the caseload is much less, which means the cw are going too crazy.

I was also talking about my kids caseworker. That is the only worker I have.
