Gripe Water

Ok... anyone ever use this?

I recently started using this on my little boy. I'm breastfeeding my bioson that is 7 weeks old and have to take herbal supplements to keep the supply up. He started getting tummy aches so this was recommended... it's worked WONDERS!!!

I really wish someone had recommended it on some of my fussy foster babies.

But now I'm wondering. Everything I've read said it's harmless. Anyone heard anything different or have any positive experiences you could share?

I've had several drug exposed infants in the past. Wonder if that might have helped calm some of those that really had a hard time digesting formula.

Some gripe water has alcohol in it. Some people say it works and some say it doesn't....usually it's just sugar and alcohol. Which brand are you using?

We lived on Gripe Water when Kelcee was a baby. I used it for her colic and boy was I happy. I bought it in bulk. I still use it today if she has a tummy ache.

I tried it with my babies and it never did a darn bit of good - but mainly I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS!! I've been thinking of you, but wasn't around a lot in the summer, so I must have missed the announcement :-)

I babysit for a woman who lives by this stuff. She gives it to her 3 month old all the time. I will be checking into it more for future use with foster kids

I've been using Baby's Blessing (or is it Mother's Blessing... one of those, I don't have it with me right now to look), which doesn't have alcohol in it. Today I bought a different one to try called Tummy Soothers that has camomile and fennel in it, but no alcohol.

By the way, the picture in my current avatar is my little boy laying on my husband's hand. He was 4 weeks old in the picture.

My daughters just love their baby brother.

I use it, and tell every one we know about it! I have even included a bottle of it in baby shower gifts. A few of our kids did not care for the taste, but most took it without any trouble. It use to be hard to find, but now you can get it at Walgreens and target.

Thru our colic it did wonders. I just added to her bottle and no problem. I couldn't have survived without it.

I didn't know Target sells it, it's probably less expensive there. I have been buying it at Wal Greens and I also found a different brand at Babies R Us. I looked at Wal-Mart (they have everything else) but didn't find any there.

Giving it as a shower gift is a terrific idea. I think I'll do that too!

I used it for my fs who was a year old. the reason it's not heard of is because it's origins are Caribbean. A friend of mine told me about it and I started using it. the one I used had no alcohol and it worked wonders!!! My little one LOVED it!! After he was RU with birthmom, there was an article about how it works and how mainstream stores would start carrying it.

It worked on our fussy 2 yr old! so I don't see why it would not work on a 7 month old! We have used is for colic, teething, and tummy troubles!
Good luck!
