Unhappy Any Advice? Sorry Long

My husband and I have completed classes, inspections, background checks, and a home study in April, May and June. We have waited patiently then 2 weeks ago our worker told us her supervisor had a few questions, but not to worry as she had the answers she needed about 1982 when my 1st husband and I divorced. So no word until last Wed. After many calls to her voice mail and several e-mails to worker. She did not call but sent me an e-mail that her supervisor would be contacting me about the SA of my youngest son. My son was SA by my ex-husbands father that is what lead to our divorce as he said "Shut up and Forget it" and that we could just keep our kids from his father. I could not do this as I felt I owed my then 4yr old son better! I took my children from SC to Texas to my Mother's and her family. My ex went and got tempory custody and came to Texas and DSS in Texas came to get my kids. After being told why I left a hearing was set in Texas. The Judge decided that SC would have to hear our case so we agreed to both our Mothers flying our kids back to SC to be turned over to DSS out here until an investcation could be done on the SA. Me nor my ex where in anyway charged with abuse or negect. I have left several more e-mails and voice messages for both worker and her supervisor. What else can I do? We want to be foster parents because we cared for our grandson until his death in 2005 as he opened our eyes to the needs of children, caring for him taught us unconditional love. His Dr. of 11 years is the one who asked us to become Foster Parents as he saw the care we rendered our Kaleb. Any advice?? to read about Kaleb go to [URL="http://www.kalebivey.com

Thanks,
kaleb's Nena

Maybe they didn't read the divorce decree closely or don't consider it sufficient documentation. It may just be a matter of pointing out to them what it says in the decree, providing additional documentation if possibe. and/or restating it in your own words. It sounds like it is more of a bureaucratic issue than anything.

I don't have an answer for you, other than just be as open and honest as you can and I am sure it will all work out... I just wanted you to know that I visited your grandson's website, and it hit me hard - my husband and I also lost one of our sons to HLHS. Our little Luke was born Sept. 11, 2002, and died Sept. 26, 2002. We also have been moved to care for children who need us, and are currently waiting to be matched to adopt a little girl.

All the best to you and yours, and bless you for wanting to offer your heart and home to more little ones.

So sorry to hear about your Luke. I decided to make Kaleb's page to help parents and families to be able to go to and see that there are many struggles with HLHS, but there is also lots of joy. Our Kaleb went when he was ready to go and not one minute earlier despite the Doctor's after his stroke saying he would die within 3 months. As I am sure you would agree for 3 yrs Kaleb was so full of life and loved every minute of it! He like your Luke changed our lives! We learned that so many children are born with severe medical issues. Those are the children we hope to Foster. Thanks for your e-mail, keep us in your prayers. I know that once everything is explained we will move forward.

Smile Everything is worked out!!!!

Hi,
I just wanted to let everyone know that I talked to our worker today and she said everything was being cleared and that she saw no reason that we would not get licensed in the next few days! Thanks everyone that said a prayer for us!
