Again Shocked!!

Well again Im shocked. Yesterday was Punky's court. My dh could not go couse he had meetings at work, but sw called me today. Well b-mom did not show. Judge is fed up and asked for pre-tpr trial for next month . If b-mom has not made any improvement in 30 days then tpr will occure. Im so shocked, becouse sw told me that most likely they would give bmom more time. She also said that they were thinking of changeing the goal to from ru-to ru/adopt. But I guess the judge said nope the goal is now Adoption. Im so relieved. Punky deserves a good healthy happy life. I called my dh and he said that he was starting to get used to the idea of her being perm in our family and wants to sit and talk about her metabolic disorder (that is his main concern). I pray he says yes, becouse I love Punky soo much. OMG to think she might be my dd in about three or four months!!!! Wish us luck!!

Posh-She has low Carnitine levels in her blood. Carnitine is what produces fatty into energy or musles. What doc is trying to determine is if its primary-meaning that her disorder is just that- or secondary -meaning another disorder is cousing this. Low carnitine couses musle loss, including the heart, lungs, and liver. Eventually it could lead to lots of heart problems or liver problems. Also have issues with walking and so forth. It ususally start minor, but with age and time it starts affecting other things. DH is concerned (which he should) becouse our dd is medical fragile. We want to make sure that we can handle another medical fragile child. We want to make sure we can provide what she needs. Loving her is no issues. She is a fighter already, but we want what is best for her.

You know the odd thing is...Teeny, who is fost/adopt needs testing done also. They found a deep dimple on his back which could be a sign of spinal problems. He is very very delayed. We already decided that Teenie is staying no matter what, but that was when we thought Punky was leaving. Now we have to consider another medical issue (punky's). My heart says yes, but my mind says think about it.

What a totally wild ride! I'm so glad for Punky that she's going to have a family that is really devoted to her. You must be totally torn about whether that should be your family---I can see how much you love her, and I can only imagine how much time and energy it takes to manage her health.

Whatever you decide, I hope it is the best of all possible decisions for Punky and for you.

That's exciting news for Punky. I hope you and DH can find peace of mind either way as you help this little girl.

Decision was made.

Well this did not take long to think. My dh I think deep down knew what his answer would be. He is the bread winner and freaked out thinking that maybe by the end of this year he would have to provide for two more little ones. Plus with more medical issues, plus mental health issues she might have. Punky is a tough cookie and tends to be very strong willed, which scares him a little (dont know why we already have two). My dh prepared himself to say good bye to Punky and backed off, so he would not get hurt. We talked late into friday night. Today he held her all day and took her out (just the two of them) to the park. Then we had three of our nephews over and Punky had a blast. He told me tonight that Punky just fits right in, but there was one problem. Her name is a boys name and my nephew has the same name. He said that he kept calling out to his nephew and Punky would come to him and vise versa. Dh said that he already came up with a name for Punky and I agree its a nice name and fits her. So Yup SHE'S STAYING!!!!! (if tpr occures of course)

You are married to a great guy! I love that he thought about this so carefully, and considered your whole family as he searched his heart.

Best wishes for your forever family!
