I thought it was good news

Around 9 this morning, the cw called to tell us that Queenie was returning to foster care with 2 of her 3 sibs and did we want to take them. Dh was home, I was at school. He said, "Queenie without a doubt. The other 2 would undermine what we've accomplished with Bubba." Some of you may remember that the cw at our agency dubbed the other 3 the Tasmanian Devils--think 15-20 major incident reports each week! The cw did some checking and DFPS said yes, they'd planned to split her from her sibs because of age range. So we had a go. They would be bringing her at 5:00.

I was driving in from school--an hour commute. I got the good news and proceeded to call the doctor and set up the intake physical, made plans about tomorrow, etc.

When I got home, dh told me that he'd just gotten a call 3 minutes before I got home. They found a placement for them in their home county. Again, some of you will recall that this particular judge believes that kids from his county need to be fostered in his county. The DFPS worker argued that Queenie needed to be returned to our home. He disagreed.

We were so close to getting our baby back

sorry it went that way. Seems like we can't rationlize why things happen the way they do. Maybe something good will happen out of all of this.

hugs to you!
