Yep, that's what I'd do. More hugs for you

They found a home. Monday is the day. I am both sad and relieved at the same time.

I'm so sorry you were put in this position in the first place, but from your poor little one's point of view....it couldn't come fast enough.

It's ok to feel relief. Playing security guard 24/7 is exhausting....add laundry, dishes, etc....and you are a walking emotional zombie.

So take some time off. Spend some quality time with your kids. And be very picky about the next placement you take. LOL

I hope the home they found will be good for the kids. I'll say a prayer...that's all we can do sometimes.

Former foster son came this past weekend for his birthday celebration and one last hoorah before school starts. I was happy to see him doing better.

Monday will not come too soon! We had a placement of severely emotionally disturbed kids, 6,7, and 8. We asked for removal and were told 30 days. Then it escalated. The 8 yr old was removed by the police. The 6 yr old spent one night terrorizing my family--son J had had mono and was fragile at the time--and they took the second kid the next day to the same psych unit his big brother was in. The 7 yr old went a few days later to an assessment placement. We had their 2 yr old sister, Queenie left. She had adjustment issues--who wouldn't with that group as mentors? Yes, she hit and scratched and screamed and kicked and bit, but she learned very quickly how to act after the others left.
Little ones can be damaged as well, but they can also heal. Almost everyone can, given an environment that is appropriate FOR THEM. We weren't that place for the Tasmanian Devils, but we were for Queenie. And for the other 6 we've had since then.

Don't feel bad. You weren't equipped to handle it and you did the best thing for your family. I've found that if the police become involved, you get removal faster!

Here's hoping this never, ever happens to you again.

The boys are gone. I really don't feel guilty anymore because my house is so peaceful right now. It wasn't fair to my own children to have them in that situation.
The boys' new foster family seems very nice. They don't have any pets or young children and seem to like the boys. I hope it works out for everyone.

Oh Mama-2-3 enjoy that peace after the storm. This just wasn't the right "match" for your family.
I am happy that the new foster family seems to be a better match. Let us know when you finally get your bearings to try again. From your list of experience, I would say you'll be ready long before I am. LOL
