Agency not responding :(
So hubby and I completed all our requirements with a new agency we chose for fost-adopt. We are hoping to be licensed soon! We took our CPR, did our medical exams, car checks, etc all over a year ago. Our worker completed all our meetings and home visits about 4 months ago. Then she said she was just waiting for our homestudy to be "written up" by the one writter they have on staff. She expected it to take 3 weeks. Now 4 months later I am annoyed. I left two voicemails last week and sent two emails and no response. She always had issues responding with other things in the begining but we managed to make it this far.
So what do I do now? It's too far to drive down and I doubt she'd be there anyway. I am almost considering doing straight adoption now because the wait is just getting out of hand. She said we were the best candidates and that she would look for children for us even though the homestudy wasn't written up. She said it wouldn't be an issue. When I talk to anyone else there, they just say "be patient, this could take a long time" sort of thing. Thoughts? |

If it were me I'd send a polite email that included the worker and supervisor that states you've been waiting around 4 months to have the homestudy finished. You've recently sent two email and left a voice mail to follow up and ask if there is anything missing or if they need any additional information to follow up.
If they are otherwise a great agency and it's just a hold up with one worker... even though it is a critical person in the process of getting licensed and then you might be done with that person, I wouldn't burn any bridges or cause any negative feelings.

Call and ask to speak to the supervisor. If you have to leave another voicemail say "If we get no response this week, DH and I are making the trip to your office in person next week". Don't say what day or time so they won't know and can't "be out" of the office. I am betting you get a call back.
