Zany's mom works part-time so we never have a visit at the same time or day. I can't count how many times I have to wake kids from naps, skip/pack lunch, etc. etc. in order to get there on time. Mom usually shows 20-40 minutes late.

This morning the two babies were still sleeping and I had to wake them, feed one quickly, drag my daughter away from her favorite show, drive 45 minutes to the visit only to learn that Zany's mom had just called to cancel and wants to reschedule for later this week.

ARGH!

The frustration is also with the SW who seems to bend over backwards to give mom what she wants, maybe partly because mom can be quite nasty when she doesn't get what she wants.

I hear ya!! Im going through that right now. I also posted a thread about it. I feel that I have to live my life on hold, becouse I dont know if tomorrow there will be visit or not.

I would talk to the CW and her supervisor. You shouldn't have to be yanked around like that. We learned that if the mom is more than 20 minutes late we can leave. If they are consistantly late you should be able to request that the mom call 30 minutes before the visit to confirm that she will be there on time. Then the CW can call you if there hasn't been a call ahead. Can you ask about having the county/agency arrange pick up and drop off for the kids so as to minimize the craziness for your family?

My agency has me wait only 10 minutes, if parent doesn't show up I leave. And I do.
