Has anyone been recommended for licensing by the social worker, but denied by the state? We recieved a very positive report by our licensing worker, but I'm worried that we are going to be denied by the state because it did mention the past negative homestudy, though it did explain all negative claims and say that all issues had been resolved. So it's been a week, and I've been checking our license number online, and its still not active. I'm a little bit worried. Does anyone have any experience in this area?

Did the SW tell you how long it would take? Ours told us the state(Texas) was behind in getting new numbers and it would take about two weeks. We had ours in about 10 days after they recieved our info.

I remember from previous posts that you were having some hard times with a SW. Is this the same one? Glad to hear that everything seems to be going good. Hope you get your license soon.

How do I look and see if I was approved by the state? I am in texas and I cannot get the agency to contact me with an answer about being a foster parent. I am ready to get started and I am so upset that it isn't happening. I had a problem with my homestudy that has been resolved, but I don't know what they decided. I am not proud that I had the problem, but if anyone knows about texas and the foster licensing I would appreciate you help. I want to know how to look up and see if we were approved by the state.

we have numbers??? Wow. I'm in TX and have been doing this for over a year.....never knew I had a number. Where do you look this up?

There is a number on the actual paper license we have to put up on the wall from the state. I guess it makes us all more official if we have some number....

I've never heard of anyone receiving the local okay not getting the state one, too. Our license took forever to arrive. Yep, state of Texas. We were licensed in March of 2007, but I started the whole mess in June of 2006! Granted, we had a few hitches along the way, but the FBI fingerprint check took forever--something like 25 days because they were so backed up.
Rose, I can't believe you lucked into 10 days.

To the OP, call your agency. They know before you do and might be able to tell you.
