Whew...this boy sounds like he had a psychotic break of some kind. I mean, stripping off his clothes and jumping naked into his foster mother's lap, while telling her he had just killed her daughter?? And he doesn't have any history of violence. It really sounds like he has a major mental illness...

I found it interesting that other, more distant family members thought that his bahavior might have been caused by the fact that he was scheduled to be moved again this weekend. I wonder if he saw the teenager and her children as the reason.

Truly sad.

Wants to adopt I thought the same thing. Its so very sad. They said he had been in the system for 8 years so who knows what abuse he has had to put up with or how much moving he has had to do. They have been running commercials for awhile now advertising a need for foster parents and I'm thinking this story is going to make people think no way I'm getting involved now. I can't stop thinking about this poor child and his need for love and a family. I have a son his age and I know he tries to act all whatever I don't need you guys but just proves to me how much he still does.

The story is definitely running counter to all of the Tony Dungy "give a child a forever family" commercials. I have heard some horrible things said about foster children in the last couple of days. It makes me really sad.

It also make me remember the whatever attitude my nephew had about everything when he lived with me until the one evening when I had to sit at the top of the bleachers at his football game and he couldn't see me standing at the sidelines. I had to go down at half time and let him know where I was so that he could stop straining his neck looking for me. His response? "I was looking for the cheerleaders" Yeah, right...in the bleachers. I never missed a game after that!

From what I've heard, I want to know if the decision to move him was the foster mother's or DCS's. She keeps claiming that they had a good relationship and he loved her.
It infuriates me that this kiddo has been in the system since he was 5 years old. I look at my kiddos who have been in for 2 1/2 years and we are trying to adopt them. So many more are in just as long and longer and DCS continues to drag their feet till the kids are harder to place for adoption once they finally TPR!!

Argh

In deference to not-knowing who asked for the move and/or all the other facts - I don't blame the fm for asking that he be moved - it states that the child has been violent during the whole placement - so it doesn't matter who "asked" for the removal - He should've been in a theraputic home when he started being violent. This gives "novices" the idea that it was because of foster abuses - and we all know that children's angers may have nothing to with the ff at all - the system itself is broken - and doesn't work well for raising adjusted (even a little) teens.

I have a lot of compassion for both the ff and for the foster child. They have left out soooo many details important to forming an opinion!! And they (reporters) probably don't even know what kind of questions to ask to get a better idea of just what happened!!

According to the news report:

"Family members told police that the boy had not been violent in the five months he had lived there.

"He gets kind of disrespectful sometimes, but you would never think he would do anything like this," said Audra Jacobs, Anastasia's mother."

He had not been violent, just disrespectful.
