Waiting for a placement!!!

I am srue some of you have read some of my posts about 2 children we were hoping to have placed with us as foster to adopt. While I had my hopes up very high for them, I have done alot of thinking and learned I need to just sit back. I thank all of you for your advise, whether I wasnted to hear it or not....but CYS will do what they want even if I don't like it. We still have not gotten the "final" answer on what is being done. I still not have gotten a call back from a "superior" that I spoke with 2 weeks ago....I would think he would not purposely call us back as 1 of my complaints was CYS was not calling my case worker back at all, and he even advised for my caseworker to call county commisioners to complain. And now he is not calling back.....I would like to think it is just cause he is still looking into all of this and does nto want to call back until he has a "answer" either way. For piece of mind we would like to know what the "decision" is in placement of these kids. So....here we are again waiting for a placement call. We were never "taken off" the wait list, but my CYS did hold back on calling us just in case we did get the 2 little ones. Although, she did say they have not been that busy and most of them had been old children and we requested 0-6. So at this point we have been certified since 12/18/07, and only did respite 3 times for a 17 yr old girl, which we may get again! So.....as I work today...from home....I know everytime the phone rings I will think....."is this a call"...

No placements yet, but we did get an emergency respite for a 14 yr old girl...not sure how long, could be up to 30 days.....we were asked since we have no kids in our house. So I asked my caseworker, since this is a "respite" will be still be considered for any younger children if they should come about? She said yes...

I also want to thank everyone on here. I am learning alot. Is there a book I can buy somewhere, that will help out alot in understanding all this stuff. I am not to clear on alot of the abbreviations everyone writes. I know I can go online...but a book would be nice as well. Any suggestions?

Kar - For a list of acronyms used here on the forums go to the top of the page and click on "Links". Go to the bottom of the list in the Miscellaneous section and click on "Acronyms". That will help with some of the abbreviations used here.
