Has anyone been put on hold for a year after Adoption? We were told we need to become a family. We have not had visits since November we are a family. I would really love to get a call for a newborn. We have alot of family support and I'm ready. I live in Maryland ROBIN

Do I believe it - yes - Do I agree with it - no.

We have had our kids since June 05..TPR May 06 - adoption still not on the calendar - yet we were told at least 6 months before a new placement. We are already a family, the kids already use their "new" last names in school etc. I think if it was a straight adoption case and the child hasn't been with you for such a long time I can see the rule - but when its approaching 2 years and they still have this rule - just nuts to me!

I called my worker and she laughed. She said the rule is not etched in stone. She said the need for infant care is great. she said she would like to give it a couple of months. I said the end of summer and she laughed again. She said she may be calling sooner she said if they are desperate she may be the one calling me. I'm hoping!!! ROBIN
