Picture info for adoptive parents...
Our now adopted daughter came to us when she was 7 months old, and if you're like me, I have always wished we had a newborn picture of her.
Once her adoption was finalized and we learned which hospital she was born at, we contacted the hospital and they gave us the name of a photo company that comes in and takes pictures of the newborns. I contacted that company, and after submitting some legal documentation from myself and our attorney, I was able to order her pictures and received them in the mail today! Apparently most photo companies archive the pictures fairly far back, so even if you've adopted an older child and you long for a baby picture, there's still a chance you may be able to get one if you go this route. Just wanted to share that with anyone who might be interested. I am so thrilled we have these photos for ourselves, and I know it's something Brooke will treasure when she's older. Ginger

That is a great idea. I would have never even thought about that. I will have to try it myself as soon as the adoption is finalized.

Our daughter was a straight adoption and we picked her up from the hospital. I t was so busy that day and I forgot to ask about it. A few months later when I asked, the photo company never even took one of her
 At least I brought my camera that day and we got some snapshots of her still in her hospital "garb"............

thank you so much for this information!
we just finalized last week.. and i never would have thought about this. i called the hospital, and they gave me the # of the photo company. i called them, and they are going to try to help me. they said they usually only keep the photos for 2 years, and my kids are 3 1/2 and 2..but she said if i sent her all the info, and copies of their adoption certs, she could search for me. i didn't have the ID # from the hospital...but she said she could still search. i am so excited to see if i can actually get these!! thanks again! lainey
